In another seperate Australian rocket launcher incident, this report from the Sydney Morning Herald details the purchase of a 90mm Matador anti-armour rocket launcher for $2. Yes folks you read right, for any or all of your surplus military terrorist requirements just hop down to your local friendly refuse tip in Australia.

There's somethjing seriously wrong when the very military establishment that is supposed to be protecting us from terrorism are handing weapons to the very terrorists!

What sort of stupid idea would that be? To actually give terrorists weapons....

POLICE have recovered a rocket launcher bought by a NSW man for $2 from a tip in Queensland.

The Matador anti-armour rocket launcher is a 90-millimetre single-use weapon designed in Singapore.

The expended rocket launcher was found at a recycling centre attached to the tip at Yeppoon, near Rockhampton, by James Maloney. "I work in the local theatre restaurant and wanted to use it as a stage prop," he said.

However, when he read a report in a local newspaper about the army misplacing rocket launchers, based on a story in the Herald, he decided to hand the weapon over.

He gave it to a reporter from Rockhampton's The Morning Bulletin, who had it photographed and wrote a report for his newspaper. "The police rang me … and told me they didn't know where it was so I redirected them back to the reporter," Mr Maloney said.

The reporter handed the weapon in to Yeppoon police yesterday morning. The Defence Department said the matter was being investigated.
